Who are McKenna Stonecraft Ltd?

We are a company specialising in the manufacture and installation of Granite Worktops. With over 25 years in the stone industry we have both the experience and expertise to meet any requirement in relation to your countertop. Our factory is based near Monaghan town.

What range of materials do we stock?

There is a large variety of Granite, Marble, Slate and Quartz available at all times and if we don't have what you want in stock we are generally able to get it within two weeks.

What type of profiles (edges) do we do?

Our standard range is the Halfbullnose and Pencil edge. Our premium range is the Tripple Pencil and Newyork edge. The latter two really gives the worktop a fantastic finish.

What sink detail can we provide?

We can Facilitate any Sink-Drainer type.
The most popular one is the undermounted bowl and half with a recessed drainer and flutes.

What is the delivery time on a typical counter top?

Usually we will have the counter top fitted within ten working days.

How are the positions of the joints decided?

This will depend on the size of the granite slabs the strength of the particular slab needed and the shape of the kitchen. Typically the average size of the slab is 2.9 metres long by 1.6 metres high. A decision will be made when the worktop is being measured and if there any extra joints needed the customer will be informed before the worktop is manufactured.

Does the material vary in colour and texture?

Due to the act that the material is a natural product it is possible that there may be variations in the stone. This is more evident in some more than others. It is advised that the customer visit our premises and view the material before placing the order.

If the draining board is recessed will it have the same finish as the rest of the worktop?

In most cases it will be the same although with some stones the colour and finish may vary for example Ubatuba , Tan brown and Jet black. Our representative will inform any customer before manufacture if the draining board in there worktop is likely to vary.

If I am replacing my existing worktop with a new stone one who takes of the old counter top?

Mckenna Stonecraft ltd will supply and fit the new worktop but it is up to the customer to remove the old one and deal with any other trades such as plumbing and electrical.

Who supplies and fits the sink and taps?

Generally the kitchen supplier will provide these but if necessary we can supply them at an extra cost. Mckenna Stonecraft ltd will fix the sinks to the stone but it is up to the customer to arrange the plumbing. As a general rule it is best to leave the plumbing of the sinks at least 24 hours after they are fitted.

How do I pay for the counter top?

A 50% deposit is needed before we can start the manufacturing of the counter top and the balance is to be paid to the fitter on the day of completion. Mckenna Stonecraft ltd accepts all major credit cards.
